IRS phone scams, and similar posts. tldr - DON'T POST PHONE NUMBERS ON REDDIT

Since the invention of the telephone, there have been telephone scams. After Alexander Graham Bell's famous first call, some dude tapped the line and managed to get a couple hundred bucks out of Watson by claiming to be the IRS.It has been a long running rule of reddit to not post personal information on reddit. Additionally, it is a rule of this subreddit. Posting phone numbers either as examples of scammers, or to encourage people to call said numbers, is against the rules, will get you banned here, and may get you banned sitewide. So don't post them. Daily, we see (and remove) a number of posts where somebody states they were called by an IRS scammer, they post the IRS scammer's phone number, stating "You know what to do." or something similar. Reddit is not your personal army, and those type of posts aren't even funny. In conclusion, for you tldr folks: Don't post phone numbers. Don't post email addresses. Don't post personal information. via /r/funny http://ift.tt/1ZJCsfT
